Scout is a sweet, small male Chihuahua/Dachshund mix at about 1.5 years old. Weighing 17 pounds, he has a short coat in a lovely yellow/tan color. He is neutered, vaccinated, and already house trained, making him an excellent companion ready for a new home.

About Scout

Scout is a sweet and sensitive Chihuahua/Dachshund mix who is still learning that the world can be a safe and welcoming place. Due to a difficult history with men, he can be shy initially and will need a gentle, patient family willing to let him build trust and transition out of the shelter at his own pace. Once Scout feels safe, his playful personality shines through. He’s eager to explore and enjoy life with his people. Already potty trained, Scout is working on his leash manners and would benefit from positive reinforcement training. He also loves to bark, so a family that appreciates vocal pups and can provide the patience he needs would be an excellent match. Scout is currently in Encinitas, CA. Ready to fall in love?
