Meet Smokey, a resilient Siberian Husky who has seen the worst but still holds onto hope. His journey began on the tough streets of Harris County, Texas, where survival was his daily reality. When Animal Control finally found him, Smokey had mere minutes before entering a crowded, high-kill shelter. Luckily, we learned about him just in time and stepped in to save this gentle soul. Smokey spent much of his early life outside, leading to heartworm diagnosis from mosquito bites. But with the start of his treatment, he's now in a secure foster home where his spirit shines. At four years old, he's affectionate and calm, showcasing his gratitude through every wag of his tail. His foster family describes him as polite and well-behaved indoors, with not a single accident to mention. Smokey is dog friendly and has a confident personality; he’ll thrive in a home that can integrate him with other pups thoughtfully.
