Meet Smokey, a truly special pup saved just in the nick of time. This gentle soul started his journey on the rough streets of Harris County, Texas, where survival was a daily struggle. When Animal Control picked him up, he must have thought his luck was changing, only to find himself in a crowded high-kill shelter, facing imminent danger. Fortunately, we learned about Smokey just minutes before his time was up. He’s been through so much but has remained kind-hearted and loving. Around four years old, Smokey is ready to embrace life and give all the affection he's been saving. His foster family describes him as calm, polite, and perfectly house-trained, with no complaints and nothing but love to give with every wag of his tail. Smokey is friendly with dogs. His confident, alpha personality requires a household that understands how to guide him in interactions with other pets.
