About Ocelot

Meet Ocelot! He came to the shelter as a stray on June 16 and can be quite nervous. The hustle of the shelter overwhelms him, but there's more to his story. During his first stay, Ocelot made real progress by approaching unfamiliar people and even letting a stranger pet him. Outside of his kennel, he still felt uneasy, but with trusted individuals, he showed a softer, more relaxed side. Ocelot was adopted previously, but returned after snapping at family members, including a child. Unfortunately, he bit a staff member upon his return and is currently under quarantine. These incidents highlight the need for a placement that understands his boundaries and provides a suitable environment. Ocelot won't win everyone over immediately, and that’s perfectly fine. He requires someone who is patient and can allow trust to develop at his pace. While the shelter makes it difficult for him to shine, his past tells us he can bond with people when he feels safe. An experienced family that can offer him structure, clear boundaries, and time to decompress will be essential for his success. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
