About Max
Meet Max, a gentle soul starting a new chapter after six years in a limited world. Before arriving at Friends of Michigan Animals Rescue, he spent his days in a backyard, with his experiences mostly restricted to that environment. Now, he’s navigating a whole new life indoors, taking walks, and meeting new people—each moment is an exploration. Max thrives in the company of a calm and patient adopter who respects his need to take everything at his own pace. He expresses his feelings clearly, especially when he's had enough; the charming 'pancake' move means he’ll just lie down, and you’ll need to sweet-talk him to get moving again. He’s a big guy, around 100 pounds, and he’s building trust each day, revealing more of his sweet personality. Currently undergoing heartworm treatment, Max’s journey involves both physical healing and emotional growth. This process will require time, but every small step forward is a significant victory for him. Max is on the lookout for a kind heart ready to help him discover the world, ensuring every experience feels safe. Don't miss the chance to bond with Max and help him embrace the expansive life he deserves. He’s neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and ready for his forever home. Ready to fall in love?
