About El Nino
El Nino came to us after being hit by a car. Despite being a tripawd, he refuses to let that slow him down. This playful and loving boy is always eager for the next adventure, embodying the spirit of "Where are we going now?". Unfortunately, the shelter environment has been challenging for him. The stress has made him act out in his kennel, where he’s tossed his food and water bowls in frustration. But outside of that, El Nino becomes a total sweetheart, longing for connection with people. He needs a patient, nurturing home where he can decompress and feel secure. El Nino already knows commands like "sit" and "come" and is learning to fetch, though he’s still figuring out the part about returning the ball. He can walk nicely on a leash with some guidance and has mingled well with other dogs at the shelter. With proper introductions at home, he’ll likely make a great companion for other pets. His treat motivation makes him perfect for ongoing training. After over four months of waiting, El Nino is starting to lose his light.
