Raffia is a vibrant 6-year-old calico with a big heart and a remarkable story. After enduring abandonment and the tough conditions of the Houston streets, she found her way to safety and received the care she deserved. Though she faced some medical hurdles, Raffia has made a fantastic recovery and is now ready for adoption. Despite having a heart condition that requires daily medication costing about $20 a month, Raffia's spirit shines through. Many have overlooked her due to this diagnosis, but she offers so much love and companionship to the right family. She's an affectionate, funny, and sassy girl who loves to rub against your legs and follows you around, always ready to charm. Raffia enjoys mealtime and is affectionate on her own terms—she appreciates being petted but prefers not to be picked up. She would thrive as the only cat in a home where she can soak up all the love. A home with older, cat-savvy kids or adults who respect her space would be ideal, as she is not suited for young children. After everything she has been through, Raffia deserves a family that sees beyond her diagnosis to appreciate the wonderful cat she truly is.
