About Valkyrie

Valkyrie is a sweet and friendly 1-year-old, 41-pound shepherd mix who found herself in need of a new home after her owner lost his. This girl is bursting with personality and thrives on human interaction. Valkyrie knows commands like sit, down, and focus/watch me, and she takes treats gently. While she can get excited when she spots people or dogs, she responds well to redirection. During her temperament evaluation, Valkyrie showed a clear preference for people over toys. Sheโ€™s playful, energetic, and enjoys engaging with her handlers. Valkyrie was comfortable during handling of her paws, ears, and body, maintaining her sweet demeanor even when uncertain about hugs. There are no resource guarding issues; sheโ€™s easy-going with food and items. When meeting other dogs, Valkyrie prefers to set her own pace, often walking away if another dog approaches too quickly. A calm introduction would help her find a suitable canine friend. Interestingly, she had a positive encounter with a cat named Sunshine, showing she might be cat-friendly as well. Valkyrie is looking for someone who can give her the love and stability she deserves after a tough chapter. Come meet Valkyrie and help her start anew!
