Meet Marty! This distinguished gentleman found himself at a high-kill shelter in Houston, just weeks away from being euthanized. Thankfully, a group of dedicated foster families stepped in and saved his life. Marty is a true socialite. He loves hanging out with people, especially his foster dad, and happily meets everyone. Unlike many rescue pups, he warms up to men right away. Marty has done well with kids, dogs, and even cats, making him a versatile addition to any home. His calm demeanor shines through as he relaxes on the patio, taking in the world around him. Sure, he's not shy about barking occasionally, but overall, he's pretty quiet and content just being nearby. Marty thrives in the company of other dogs, enjoying pack walks and playing with his furry siblings. He’s potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, and rides well in cars. Although he’s kennel trained, his preference is to lounge on the couch. Ideally, he’d love a family that can accommodate this wish. At about 5 years old and weighing around 65 pounds, Marty is a medium-energy dog ready for affection and adventure. He’s currently being treated for heartworm disease, but will be available for transport to his forever home in early October.
