About Rufus

Meet Rufus, a gentle soul eager to find his forever home. Rufus is a bit on the shy side, taking time to warm up and feel secure in new situations. However, once he trusts you, his affectionate side emerges, and he's ready to share endless cuddles! He's great with kids and gets along well with other animals, but he prefers a calm environment, ideally with children over 8 who can appreciate his sensitivity. Loud noises and abrupt movements can make him anxious, so a serene home would be perfect. Rufus has a special fondness for stuffed animals, finding joy in carrying them around like trusted companions. He’s currently living in a foster home, so if you’re interested in meeting him, reach out to the Kearney Area Animal Shelter. Rufus can't wait to share lots of love with his new family.
