About Bourbon
Bourbon is a striking Orange and White Llewellyn Setter, though he may remind some of a Golden Retriever. This beautiful, larger dog came to IBR after losing his owner and has quickly adapted to life with his foster family. He loves playing with Whitley's puppies, offering them confidence while they jump around him. Bourbon has been through a lot but is improving; after four months of antibiotics for tick-borne diseases, he’s starting to regain some hearing. Currently, Bourbon is deaf but attentive, and he’s eager to learn with hand signals, especially since he’s food motivated. He needs a pet home in the Chicago area with a secure, fenced yard. While he’s doing well with cage training, he’ll need assistance with house manners and house training. Bourbon thrives on companionship and is great with other dogs. However, no cats, as he shows too much interest in them. Bourbon is looking forward to fluffy new fur for the colder months after recently getting a shave, which he handled remarkably well.
