About Ruby

Ruby arrived in rescue as a pregnant mama from a shelter in Alabama. After having her puppies, she's now figuring out what it means to truly be part of a family. Though her past remains a mystery, it's clear that both she and her sister were very shy and may not have had much socialization or home life experience. Ruby, a sweet mixed-breed dog with a scruffy terrier look, weighs about 30 pounds and is estimated to be around 1-2 years old. Currently in Maine, Ruby is gentle and gets along well with other dogs and the cats in her foster home. She is still shy when it comes to being leashed, so she would thrive in a home with a physically fenced yard. While she has learned to go potty outside with a consistent schedule, she hasn't quite figured out how to ask to go out yet. Ruby is available for meet and greets with approved adopters. If you're interested in adopting Ruby or want to get pre-approved, please fill out an application on our website. This helps streamline the adoption process for you.
