About Comstock
Comstock is a striking 50-pound Catahoula Leopard Dog who’s back in our care, and this time we’re focused on finding a home that truly understands his needs. He’s smart, energetic, and affectionate—an incredibly athletic companion who thrives on activity. Comstock learns quickly and craves mental stimulation alongside physical exercise. Unfortunately, his previous adopters didn’t follow our guidance for his training and care, leading to his return after he jumped the fence. This isn’t a bad dog; he simply requires a more fitting environment. Catahoulas are active working dogs; they aren’t content being left in the yard all day. Comstock needs structure, mental challenges, and a committed owner who understands that his intelligence and instincts must be engaged. He’s playful and adventurous, eager to learn, and bonds deeply with his people. An ideal home would offer: 🐾 Active individuals or families 🐾 Commitment to positive reinforcement training 🐾 Daily exercise and mental enrichment 🐾 Consistency and clear boundaries 🐾 A secure yard with supervision 🐾 Respect for his Catahoula instincts Comstock shouldn’t be left unsupervised with smaller animals, as his instincts can kick in. We want to ensure he won’t be returned again because of underestimating his needs. If you see the potential and are ready to invest in an intelligent, loving companion, Comstock is waiting for you. 💙 Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
