Meet Angel! Angel is a gentle, independent cat seeking a patient adopter who will allow him to adjust on his own terms. He has spent time in a home with adults and older children, where he thrived on gentle interactions. Although the shelter environment has been a bit overwhelming for him, he’s making great strides in showing his true, affectionate nature beneath his initial shyness. His ideal home is calm and quiet, suited for experienced cat guardians who understand that building trust takes time. Angel values predictable routines and safe spaces where he can retreat to relax. He benefits from slow introductions and enjoys having the freedom to choose when to engage. While Angel has successfully lived with older children, he isn’t suited for homes with young kids under 13. He has no known history with other pets, so if there are resident animals, gradual introductions are recommended. Angel is healthy overall; he recently overcame an upper respiratory infection. He does best with adopters familiar with handling timid cats, as he may need time to decompress and adjust. His behavior level indicates that he appreciates attention but has been moderately fearful. As he becomes more comfortable, he enjoys gentle petting, slow-blinking interactions, and tasty treats, especially tuna. Watching Angel’s confidence grow has been a joy for our behavior team. He really is a big fan of soft spots—he often tucks himself into a cozy loaf when he gathers his thoughts. Though he may initially seem reserved, he loves head pets and engaging with his people when he feels safe. Angel is also FIV+, which comes with some medical needs requiring follow-up.
