Wednesday, also known as Sweet Potato, is a resilient soul who arrived at Southern Arizona Beagle Rescue from the Phoenix Humane Society after being surrendered. She faced considerable challenges, having injuries around her neck that required stitches, possibly from wildlife or barbed wire. Upon her arrival, she was recovering but had low energy and a lack of appetite. Now, after four months of care, Sweet Potato has made a remarkable comeback. She is approximately 3-4 years old and has regained her usual cheerful demeanor. Although she’s still a mellow beagle, she has started showing her playful side with toys. Walking is easy with her; she neither pulls on the leash nor reacts much to passersby, although she might bark occasionally. Sweet Potato thrives on companionship and enjoys being close to her humans. She gets along well with other dogs, although she prefers to be near the people in her life. While she does have ongoing medical needs related to hypothyroidism and valley fever, both are manageable with medication. Each month, the cost is minimal, about $10. She is a wonderful dog who would make a great companion for a loving family. If you're interested, please fill out an application.
