Saoirse (pronounced Seer-sha) is a delightful 10-month-old Australian cattle dog and husky mix weighing around 40 pounds. Currently thriving in a foster home, she is both house-trained and crate-trained. Loyal, affectionate, and carefree define Saoirse’s personality. She loves people and gets along well with other dogs. Her morning routine involves plenty of kisses for her foster mom and enthusiastic outdoor play. Energetic sessions spent running around are followed by content nap times when her humans are away. Saoirse has a great habit of only chewing on her toys, which has earned her free-roam privileges in her home. Though she has only been on a leash a few times, Saoirse is learning to walk calmly and will benefit from more training. Her food motivation and intelligence make her a quick learner. Interestingly, she doesn’t guard her food, sharing her bowl with other dogs without hesitation, which is impressive given her history of being underweight. Saoirse does show some herding instincts, occasionally nipping at other dogs during play, but she’s gentle with everyone, including kids. Her protective side comes out with loud barks when strangers approach, yet she remains calm around family. Saoirse is an exceptionally sweet dog, making her an ideal companion for families, seniors, or anyone looking for a loyal furry friend.
