Meet Tonka. Tonka is a delightful mix and a real joy to have around. Around a year old, she’s adjusting wonderfully to foster life and is projected to weigh about 50 lbs as she gains a bit more weight. Her affectionate and gentle nature shines through as she follows her foster mom closely, especially adoring her 13-year-old human sister. This makes a home with children an ideal match for her. In her current foster home, Tonka is getting along well with the resident dogs and is curious about the cat and chickens, showing them respect and not chasing them. She's healing nicely after her spay, managing her medication well, and enjoying frequent smaller meals as she learns to slow down during feeding times. Though she initially hesitates to explore the yard alone, she’s happy to sniff around as long as her person is nearby. After she finishes healing, we plan to work on her leash walking skills and get her out for further adventures. Tonka is content within the family dynamic and hasn’t attempted to escape.
