Elio is a delightful 7-year-old, 14-pound miniature poodle who has endured quite a journey. He came to the shelter matted and in pain due to dental disease, but he's turned a corner. After receiving necessary medical care and a neuter, he’s now thriving. Elio is fully house trained and will notify you when he wants to go outside. This little guy has been crate trained, though he prefers a larger crate that's cozy with blankets. Elio enjoys his soft toys, particularly crinkle toys, and loves to play fetch but needs a careful approach during play. He gets along well with dogs and currently shares his foster home with three dogs and two cats. However, he can be resource guarding with toys like a Kong, so playtime should be supervised. Elio is shy around new people and may react defensively, so he requires a patient, experienced adopter who can help him feel secure. His ideal home is an all-adult household where he can feel safe.
