About Sugar
Sugar is a charming little Shih Tzu with a tough history. After losing her mama in January, she spent months alone at home with only occasional visits from a family member. When she arrived in April, Sugar was matted and understandably scared. Since being in a loving foster home, she has been groomed twice, and her beautiful coat is finally coming back. More than just a makeover, she needed time to heal emotionally too. This quirky girl is affectionate and loves to cuddle, often pawing gently at you for attention. Playing fetch brings her immense joy—she'll retrieve toys for as long as someone throws them! However, she becomes protective over her bed and may growl at other pets attempting to share her space. Good news: she's great with kids and is learning to enjoy the safety of being picked up by her favorite people. Sugar would do best with a patient and loving adopter who can appreciate her unique personality and quirks. She's about 10 lbs and estimated to be around 6 years old. Sugar's ready to find her forever family, who will cherish her as much as her foster family does. You can adopt locally in Arkansas, or transport is available to the New England area. Make sure you can pick her up or have someone do so in PA, NJ, or CT on Saturdays. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
