Meet Blitz! This spirited almost two-year-old Australian Shepherd is currently in Amherst, MA. Blitz embodies a wonderful mix of devotion and playful energy, showcased through his striking blue merle coat and icy blue eyes. Weighing in at around 50 pounds, this medium-sized boy thrives in a lively environment and loves participating in all kinds of activities. Known for his extensive trick repertoire, Blitz can sit, shake, play dead, and even jump on command! He enjoys tug-of-war, sturdy chew toys, and chasing balls. With his high energy, he would benefit from additional leash training and would thrive with patient, positive reinforcement. Affectionate and loyal, Blitz loves plopping himself into a lap, oblivious to his size. He’s great with respectful older kids and has special bonds with those aged 10 and 13. Although he gets along well with other dogs, his ability to coexist with cats or younger children hasn’t been tested yet. Blitz does experience anxiety and needs a consistent family to provide the stability he craves. He tends to be fearful in new situations and requires slow introductions to new people. While he has a bite history during a stressful home stay, he'd never shown such behavior before, indicating the need for a calm home where he can feel secure. Blitz is neutered, house-trained, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. His sensitive stomach requires a special diet managed with Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Skin and Stomach food.
