This affectionate girl is house trained, spayed, and up to date on her vaccinations. Although she has some special needs that require ongoing attention, Gertrude is full of love and brings warmth to any home. Located in Murphysboro, IL, she’s ready for a calm and caring environment.

Golden years should be full of sunshine, tasty snacks, and cozy cuddles, and that's exactly how Gertrude wants to spend her time! After a tough start, this sweet senior dog is ready to embrace her golden years with love and care. Gertrude was found as a stray and lived with her finders for about a month before they realized she needed more help. Upon her arrival at animal control, she was in dire need of medical attention due to mammary masses. Thankfully, she has since been spayed and had those masses removed, including one that was cancerous. Gertrude also underwent vital dental work, bringing her back to health. While she does have some ongoing needs, such as pain management for her arthritic changes, she's thriving and full of sass. Little Gertrude loves comfort; she prefers soft beds, gentle romps in the yard, and especially enjoys car rides while nestled in your lap. This precious girl gets along with cats, dogs, and even children. While she appreciates some companionship, she would love to be the center of attention when she can.
