Chewbacca has faced challenges in his early days, being pulled from OCAS in January 2026 after being deemed ābitey.ā Heās been returned to the shelter multiple times by families unable to grasp the importance of giving a dog time to decompress. Now, Chewy is eager to find his true forever home. At just 13 pounds, this sensitive little guy is timid and skittish at first, but once heās settled into a calm environment, his playful personality shines. Heāll happily toss his bed around, enjoy his toys, and get excited for treats. Crate trained, he appreciates having his own space where he feels safe to sleep and eat. Building trust with Chewy requires patience; heāll need someone who understands that love is earned, not rushed. Initially, he may not take treats right away and doesn't like being picked up, but with time and consistency, he becomes an engaging and joyful companion. Chewy can be particular about his food and is best fed separately, with his bowl picked up once he finishes. He thrives in a peaceful environment, so a home with few visitors is ideal. Unfortunately, heās not fond of small children or strangers entering his space. With the right personāsomeone patient and understandingāChewy will become a loyal companion who adds love and personality to your home. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped.
