About Elmer

Elmer is a delightful little dog who his foster mom describes as the perfect companion. Weighing in at a petite 15 pounds and approximately 8 years old, Elmer has settled into his foster home beautifully after being rescued as a stray from Randolph County. This well-mannered boy respects your space and stays out of your way. He enjoys cuddling up on the couch, and he’s very gentle when taking treats. Elmer loves his daily leash walks, exploring the outdoors—especially a nice, fenced yard where he can safely run and perhaps even dig up moles or voles! He is already housetrained and uses a doggie door. Elmer is getting accustomed to crate training and responds eagerly when offered a treat. Although he can be a bit fussy about being in the crate, he's learning to accept it with encouragement. Elmer is friendly and gets along well with other dogs, including a resident Golden Retriever. He also shows respect towards cats while playing in the yard. While he dislikes nail trims, he can be reassured with gentle touches and treats to help him trust the process. Elmer is ready to find a loving home that can give him the attention he deserves. Ready to make Elmer part of your family? Apply to adopt!
