About Davidson
Meet Davidson, a gentle 3-year-old Labrador mix weighing 53 pounds. Lovingly nicknamed Davie, he’s learning to trust that the world can be a safe place. He arrived at the rescue underweight and bearing the emotional scars of past abuse, so he needs an adopter who is patient and understanding. Davie is shy and easily startled, often shutting down when frightened without showing aggression. His sensitive nature calls for calm guidance and positive reinforcement. While he can be nervous around men, he’s making strides with his foster dad, allowing gentle pets, and slowly acclimating to leash walks. Recently, he has started wagging his tail and even doing a cheerful little gallop when feeling brave. He displays friendly curiosity towards the foster puppies in his home, wagging his tail and sniffing noses through their pen. Crate trained and house trained, Davie is doing well without accidents. A secure environment is crucial for him, so his new family will need to be vigilant about leashes, gates, and safety. Davidson is truly a sweet boy who needs kindness and a secure home where he can continue to blossom. He’s currently in Houston, TX, but can be transported to most states for an additional fee of $300. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
