Meet Jimi! This sweet boy is a loving companion who's learning to embrace new experiences. Though he has a shy side, he's making remarkable progress in his training, becoming a fantastic pet for the right family. Jimi has made friends with the resident cat in his foster home, and he takes his time to understand other pets are friends, not foes. He's really special! At almost 3 years old, Jimi weighs 66 pounds and is a mix of Australian Shepherd and German Shepherd. He's neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. Jimi returned to us after his family could no longer keep him, and he has thrived in a loving foster environment. He’s very smart and is excelling with house training, crate training, and even some commands he's picked up quickly. Jimi loves being near people and enjoys jam sessions with guitar music. He can be a little needy when you’re around, but he can also entertain himself if you're not close by. Socializing with new people or pets may take him some time, but with a confident owner, he can learn to feel safe. While he can be reactive on walks, it is mostly due to fear; he needs slow introductions to feel comfortable with other dogs. He enjoys low-energy activities like playing with toys and relaxing on a snuggle mat. Jimi would do best in a home where he receives gentle guidance and reassurance, especially with older children who understand his need for space. He’s well-behaved, eager to please, and ready to fill a loving home with affection. If you're willing to invest the time for him to adjust, he will reward you with loyalty and love.
