About Albert

Albert is a big, gentle teddy bear of a cat with soft green eyes and an even softer purr. At two years old and an impressive 18 pounds, this handsome tuxedo boy is happiest simply being near his people. He loves affection and will hop into your lap, but when it's time for serious lounging, Albert prefers to stretch out beside you on the couch or floor, soaking up head scratches and belly rubs. He also has a wonderfully playful side, enjoying wrestling with his kitten foster friend and batting at wand toys. You’ll often catch him trotting across the room with a toy clenched in his mouth as if he’s captured the greatest prize imaginable. After playtime, he likes to sit perched on the back of the couch, quietly observing the world outside. Albert gets along well with both cats and dogs, and we think he’d be happiest in a home with a companion pet. Older, calm children would be fine, but small children might overwhelm this sensitive guy. Albert’s journey started as a stray kitten in Ohio, later moving to Mississippi with a loving family. However, as their baby grew into an active toddler, Albert felt increasingly stressed and often hid. Understanding that their gentle cat needed a calmer environment, his family reached out to OCC for help. Now, in foster care, Albert is regaining his confidence, enjoying being the center of attention, and reminding everyone what a sweet and easygoing boy he is. He has great litter box manners but requires an XL box due to his size. He appreciates his cardboard scratchers and considers Temptations Seafood Treats a vital food group. All this gentle giant wants is companionship and a peaceful home to belong to. If you give Albert a little room on your couch and a lot of love in your home, he’ll repay you with years of affection and loyalty. Give him a chance to be your loyal companion; your new best friend is just an application away!
