Meet Petey, a young and delightful guy who has just come into his own after spending a year in the shelter. At around 3 years old and weighing 60 pounds, he is a mixed breed of Pit Bull Terrier and Pointer, eager to find his forever home. Petey is already house trained and does an excellent job signaling when he needs to go outside. He's well-mannered in his crate, enjoying his meals and settling down for sleep there. Though he hasn’t had many car rides, he has handled them well when he’s been in one. Daily walks are part of his routine, and he enjoys them, displaying medium energy. Petey can get a bit excited on the leash when he spots other people or animals, responding well to gentle corrections. Whether it's playing fetch with a tennis ball or cuddling on the couch, he has a wonderful balance of energy and relaxation. This charming boy has been great with kids, enjoying the company of children aged 7 to 10. Like any enthusiastic dog, he’s best suited for older children who are comfortable with larger dogs. He gets along well with other dogs and passed the cat test at the shelter, indicating he could coexist with feline friends too.
