Birdie's story started as a stray hanging around the McDonald's in Walnutport, where we were finally able to safely catch her and bring her into rescue. While she was kenneled, Birdie quickly started showing us her sweet side. She would come up to greet us and happily accept attention. Now that she has moved into the general cat population, she's still adjusting to having more space and activity around her. Sudden movements can send her running to hide, but if you make her environment quiet, move slowly, and give her a little time, you can usually sneak in some pets—and she really does enjoy them. Underneath that cautious exterior is a super sweet, loving girl who just needs more time and patience to build her confidence around people. She isn't aggressive—she's simply still learning that humans are safe. Birdie gets along well with other cats and may benefit from having a friendly, confident feline companion to help show her the ropes. While kenneled, she was also comfortable around children ages 3 and 6. Birdie would do best with a patient family willing to let her settle in at her own pace and continue working on her socialization. Give this sweet girl the time to trust you, and we think there's a wonderful little companion waiting to come out of her shell.
