Sophie is a gentle lady, born in August 2019. She was surrendered to LCCR due to her owner's health issues. Initially shy, she spent time observing her foster parents from the safety of her closet. Now, she enjoys sunbathing on a windowsill cat bed, lounging on human beds, or relaxing in her cute cardboard cat house. Sophie brightens up when she sees the resident beagle, happily head-butting him and trilling with excitement. Though Sophie lived peacefully with another cat for six years, her sister became aggressive after a stray appeared, leaving Sophie fearful of other cats. For this reason, she prefers a home as the only feline, where she can settle in without the stress of competition. She's eager for a forever home, and her ideal match would be a single person or a laid-back family with older kids who can treat her gently. Sophie gets along well with dogs but isn't interested in playing. Currently in foster care in New Cumberland, her adoption fee is $75, covering vaccinations, testing, microchip, and spay.
