Meet Tailgate, an endearing Great Pyrenees who found his way to Highland Lakes Canine Rescue from Lampasas Animal Shelter. Rescued alongside his sister at just six months old, Tailgate had a tough start, being underweight and struggling with his back legs. While his sister has since found a forever home, Tailgate is patiently waiting for his own. Tailgate has been diagnosed with mild hip dysplasia and luxating patellas in both back legs. He’s on a special nutrition plan to help him gain healthy weight and muscle to prepare for necessary corrective knee surgery once he matures. Despite his challenges, Tailgate remains a gentle and affectionate soul, getting along well with kids, cats, and other dogs.
