Spice arrived to foster care as a 7 week old kitten in late May. Spice was juat what her name says.....spicy. No matter what her foster home tried she was untouchable. 3 other litters of kittens came and went from the same foster home and yet Spice remains. Spice did well with the majority of all her kitten friends. Shes not a huge fan of dogs and yet she remained stubborn. The day Spice voluntarily took treats off her foster moms legs we thought she was making progress. She'd get close, be curious, sniff, but never touch. She watched other kittens get cuddles and love yet she refused all human contact. Of you reached for her she would hiss and run away. After months of trying the talk of TNR came up. Its a hard decision we never want to make but sometimes we don't have any other recourse. Her foster mom kept delaying and silently holding out hope for a miracle. Yesterday, that miracle happened!!! Spice's last roommates moved out a couple days prior leaving her all alone. We're not sure if its the combo of being alone for the first time and spending enough time in the same home or what but yesterday Spice lived up to her name again; keeping life Spicy. Spice not only allowed herself.to be pet, she ASKED to be pet. She voluntarily touched her foster mom and nose pooped her!! I'm telling you; we could have cried from joy! Spice is still a little scared of fast moving hands but she has finally allowed contact. Spice's other quirk......she likes to suckle fuzzy cat beds. Why? We have no clue. She's never done it to another animal, just fuzzy cat beds and fuzzy pillows. Will she grow out of it? Who knows. We don't really care. It's not hurting anything. What we do know....Spice will not live outside. No TNR for this girl! Spice is fully vetted and ready for adoption. This special girl is ready to go home. Help her find it! Please?
