Meet Ginger, formerly known as Aphrodite! This delightful dog has a wonderfully goofy personality that shines through, especially when she gets excited—one ear perks up while the other flops down, giving her a cartoonish charm. Ginger is affectionate and cuddly, making her an all-around great companion. She’s house trained and well-behaved, enjoying the freedom of having the whole house to explore. Ginger is comfortable in her crate, often retreating there to relax, even with the door open. Ginger loves people and enjoys snuggling, belly rubs, and being petted. She’s happy to spend the night next to her 14-year-old foster brother and isn't overly attached to just one person—she spreads her affection evenly. Strangers usually find her friendly, though she did raise an eyebrow at one visitor in a football helmet, which was quite the sight! She does wonderfully with children over 8, greeting them with excitement but without any biting behavior. Smart and eager to please, Ginger knows some basic commands and is learning her leash manners. Although she tends to pull at the beginning of walks, she settles down after about a half mile, enjoying all the sights and smells, especially in tall grass. Mention a car ride or a walk, and you’ll see her excitement culminate in happy spins. Ginger has a bit of a picky palate when it comes to food but enjoys it better with some dog-safe chicken broth mixed in. Funny, affectionate, and intelligent, Ginger is a dog filled with personality who will keep you smiling and snuggling right beside you.
