Foster-To-Adopt Meet Shasta, a sensitive 5-year-old Lab mix, weighing 53 pounds. She came to us from the Stockton shelter in rough shape, battling severe pneumonia and pregnant with one puppy. With dedicated veterinary care and the love of her foster family, Shasta has made a remarkable recovery and is now ready to start her new life. Shasta is a bit reserved, taking time to warm up to new people. Once she trusts you, she thrives on companionship and is happiest by your side. Affectionate and loyal, she forms deep bonds and enjoys following her humans around the house. She's a great car rider and loves to play ball, often fetching it back. Shasta also has a soft spot for stuffed toys, though her playful nature means they rarely last long! We've discovered she enjoys sprinklers and might just be a swimmer at heart. She loves to sleep beside her humans and prefers a calm, predictable environment. Crates aren't her thing; she needs to be part of the household rather than tucked away. While she can get along with some dogs, Shasta is not overly social and would appreciate slow introductions.
