At around 1.5 years old and weighing approximately 7.5 pounds, he’s a playful, affectionate pup with striking green eyes and a unique fox-like face. Nelson’s personality shines through his playful nature. He loves spending time with his small dog siblings and is always eager for a good game of chase, especially when squirrels are involved. This little guy has been compared to a Velcro dog for his desire to stay close to his people. Though he may be learning about life in a family setting, he’s already mastered the art of happy dances, showcasing his joyful spirit. While he has done well with other small dogs, his history means he may need time to adjust to new environments and situations. Older, mature children (8 and up) would likely be the best match for him. As he was previously kept as a breeding dog, he’s still adapting to family life and all its wonders, from manners to playtime. Nelson has shown good potty habits in his foster home, but he needs guidance with separation anxiety. He’s looking for a patient guardian who can help him learn that being alone is okay.
