Meet Coco, a sweet little guy who is happiest when he’s either cuddled up with his people or enjoying a nice, leisurely walk! This little pocket pooch absolutely loves people. He can be a little nervous when meeting someone new, but thankfully, he warms up very quickly. Once he realizes you’re a friend, he’s ready to soak up all the attention and affection you have to offer. Coco isn’t super playful, but he definitely enjoys a good cuddle session. He also takes his naptime very seriously and is perfectly content curling up on a soft dog bed, pillow, blanket, or even a pile of laundry if he can find one! When it comes to walks, Coco is a big fan! He loves getting outside, exploring, and sniffing and marking everything in sight. He could happily walk for miles. He does pretty well on leash, although he may occasionally put on the brakes when he finds a particularly interesting smell—some things simply cannot be rushed! Coco is still working on his housetraining, so his new family will need to be patient and willing to continue helping him master his potty routine. He does well with small dogs. His experience with larger dogs is unknown, and he has barked and gotten a little worked up when he has seen a couple of bigger dogs, so slow, thoughtful introductions would be best. Coco is also a bit of a talker! He may howl in response to certain noises outside. It isn’t especially loud or excessive, and his foster family isn’t sure how much of this behavior is encouraged by his current canine sibling. His new family should be prepared for a little occasional commentary. Overall, Coco is a sweet, affectionate guy who would love a home where he can enjoy leisurely walks, plenty of sniffing adventures, cozy naps, and lots of love. If you’re looking for a loving companion who would rather cuddle than run around all day, Coco may be your guy! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
