**Meet Mylee: part social butterfly, part mountain goat, part woman of mystery.** Mylee is a beautiful, larger girl estimated to be about 1-2 years old, and we're still trying to figure her out. When we first met her, Mylee was hanging out in a free-roaming room with other cats and seemed perfectly content-as long as she could survey her kingdom from the **very top of the cat tree**. And that tells us something important about Mylee: **she's a tree dweller.** As Jackson Galaxy would say, some cats feel safest and most confident when they can get UP. Mylee is absolutely one of them. A tall cat tree, sturdy window perch, or other elevated hangout isn't just going to be fun for her-it's likely to be a big part of helping her feel secure in her new home. Then we brought her into rescue and discovered another side of her. As soon as we sat down to take her adoption photos, Mylee came alive. She was **outgoing, friendly, active, curious and into EVERYTHING.** Getting a decent picture was nearly impossible because apparently sitting still for her dating profile was not on Mylee's agenda. We left the room. Mylee: *Excellent. I shall now disappear behind the furniture.* And disappear she did. We eventually had to negotiate her return with treats. So...who is the real Mylee? Probably **both of them.** She seems to be a curious, social young cat who also needs time to feel safe in a new environment. Right now, she's in a room without a cat tree or high perch, which may be making it harder for her to show us that confident girl we saw before. We think Mylee's adopter should expect to give her some **decompression time** and let her settle in at her own pace. Give her a quiet start, some tasty treats, and-most importantly-a place where she can get up high and watch the world until she decides it's safe to join it. Once she does? We have a feeling there's a **big personality hiding up there.**
