Meet Davidson, affectionately known as Davie, a 3-year-old Labrador mix weighing 53 pounds. This gentle boy is gradually discovering that the world can be a safe place. After coming to us underweight and with emotional scars from past abuse, he requires a patient and understanding adopter to help him build his confidence. Davie is timid and easily startled but has not shown aggression; instead, he responds best to calm guidance and positive reinforcement. He tends to shut down when scared, making steady progress with his foster dad as he learns to trust him. He’s even shown signs of bravery, such as wagging his tail and attempting a little gallop. Around other dogs, Davie has been friendly, happily sniffing and wagging his tail at his foster puppies. He is crate trained and currently has no accidents indoors. However, due to his sensitive nature, his new environment must be secure, and his adopter should be diligent about safety measures. This sweet soul is ready to thrive in a kind and safe home where he can continue his journey. Davidson is located in Houston, TX, but can be transported to most states for an additional fee of $300.
