Meet Dottie, a 1-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix who weighs about 30 pounds. This sweet girl came to Wish Bone with her three younger siblings and has been an excellent big sister, but she’s now ready for a family of her own. Dottie is a gentle soul, thriving in her foster home. She’s house trained, does great in her crate, and adapts quickly to routines. Relaxing indoors, spending time in the yard, and playing with toys or other dogs are some of her favorite activities. However, Dottie can be a bit timid in new situations. She takes her time warming up, so she’ll need a patient family that will allow her to build confidence at her own pace. Currently, Dottie does best in a home with a fenced yard because she's unsure about walking on a leash and wearing a harness. Having another confident dog around could really help her adjust. When it comes to children, she feels nervous and would be best suited for a family with kids aged 8 and up. She's still learning her manners around food but responds well to gentle redirection. Dottie is a happy, adaptable girl who just needs time and positive experiences to see that the world can be a wonderful place. With a little patience and love, she’ll likely blossom into an amazing family companion. Her minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee for rabies registration for McLean County residents.
