Tootsie is a youthful 2-year-old, 36-pound bundle of joy. She believes everyone she meets—be it person or animal—is a potential best friend, and her vibrant personality certainly shines wherever she goes. Even at the vet, she maintains her cheerful demeanor and knack for making friends. Despite her difficult past, Tootsie's spirit has remained strong. Since arriving at the rescue, she has been spayed, received a soft palate reduction for improved breathing, and undergone treatment for her skin allergies. Though she may need ongoing allergy support, it’s hard to predict the full extent until she settles into her new Colorado home. Tootsie is both kennel trained and perfectly house trained, currently living harmoniously with both cats and dogs. She occasionally jumps up for kisses but has no serious behavioral issues. She knows how to sit and is eager to please. Her ideal home would include another dog, preferably larger, as she can be a bit oblivious to her own size. While she largely ignores the cats in her foster home, older children would be best due to her playful, mouthy nature. With a moderate level of energy, Tootsie enjoys short bursts of play rather than long hikes. She loves toys and enjoys zooming around the backyard. This affectionate dog will become a loyal companion and likely integrate seamlessly with families and other pets. Just keep in mind she does require some allergy medication.
