Meet Socks, a handsome gray-and-white boy with a gentle personality and a soft spot for affection. Socks arrived at ECPR after being abandoned on our doorstep in a tote bag on a scorching day. Despite this challenging start, he has proven to be a sweet, friendly cat eager to learn the meaning of safety and care. He can be a bit shy around new people, but once he warms up, his lovely nature shines through. Socks enjoys slow, gentle pets and expresses affection through charming head butts. Once bonded, he will likely want to stay close and be part of your daily life. Socks is looking for a quiet, calm home where he can decompress at his own pace. He prefers cozy hiding spots when feeling overwhelmed and is generally okay with being handled, though he may become anxious in uncertain situations. So far, he hasn't shown much interest in play, but we anticipate that more of his personality will emerge once he settles into a home. For now, he's content enjoying his covered bed, soaking up affection, and indulging in his favorite wet food and Churu treats. While Socks has been around other cats and may hiss during introductions, he hasn't displayed aggression. A home without dogs might be ideal since his history with them is unknown. Socks has endured a tough beginning, but he's ready for a much brighter future with someone patient who will allow him the time he needs to trust again. In return, he’ll offer you gentle head butts, quiet companionship, and the special bond that comes from being his safe haven. This could be the start of something paw-some.
