About Montana

Montana is a 2 and a half-year-old, 56-pound Husky and German Shepherd mix, who found himself in a city shelter after being surrendered by his owner. After several months of waiting for the right family, he is now in the loving care of a Legacy Humane Society foster home. Here, he enjoys the good life while patiently awaiting his forever home. Despite not having the best experience in his previous environment, Montana remains sweet and gentle. He needs a home without cats but shows great potential to get along with dogs, so a meet-and-greet is recommended. Montana walks well on a leash and will truly thrive in a family that offers love, structure, and encouragement. He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Currently, Montana is undergoing heartworm treatment using the slow-kill method, which allows him to enjoy life without the stress of more intensive restrictions. If you think you could be the special person to welcome Montana into your home, please apply online, and the team will reach out to you. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
