Meet Dorothy. Dorothy is a lovely calico female kitten, born on April 7, 2026. This resilient little girl has faced more than most cats do in a lifetime. She was discovered hidden beneath a lawnmower with a serious mouth injury, losing part of her lower lip. Thankfully, she underwent surgery to repair the damage, which involved securing her lip to her back molars during her recovery. After a lengthy healing process in a nurturing foster home, Dorothy is finally ready for adoption. Her surgery was a success, and she now eats without any issues. It's important to note that Dorothy is a carrier of feline herpesvirus (FHV-1). Though the term may sound daunting, feline herpesvirus is quite common and many infected cats lead normal, healthy lives. Stress can trigger symptoms such as watery eyes or sneezing, so Dorothy thrives in a calm environment where she can receive a bit of extra care during stressful moments. Strong scents and irritants should be minimized to keep her comfortable. Dorothy is great with other cats and children, making her a wonderful companion.
