Meet Scout. Scout is a 60-pound, 1-year-old female Pit Bull mix with a gentle heart and a playful spirit waiting to emerge. She was found as a stray, which means we can only guess what she has been through. While new environments and unfamiliar faces can be daunting for her, she has never shown fear aggression. Instead, Scout prefers to take her time, needing space and reassurance as she adjusts. Once she feels safe, her charming personality shines. Scout relishes outdoor time, zooming around and playing with her toys, often amusing herself by tossing them in the air. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and would flourish in a home with a confident canine companion. Having another dog would really help Scout gain the confidence she needs to explore the world without fear. Scout has interacted positively with an outdoor cat, showing curiosity rather than aggression. However, if you have cats at home, slow introductions are recommended. Though she enjoys the company of children, it’s best if they understand her need for a gentle approach, especially in louder situations. Patience is key with Scout. While she might not rush to greet you, building that bond will be more meaningful as you gain her trust.
