About Skunk
Meet Skunk! This sweet 2-year-old Cocker Spaniel has already faced more challenges than any dog should have to endure, but his story is about to take a brighter turn. Skunk originally caught our attention when he was found running down a highway, sporting a bright blue cast. After being picked up as a stray, animal control worked to find his owner, only to learn that his family could no longer afford his care and wanted to surrender him. Skunk suffered from a severe fracture in his leg that had not healed, leaving him in his original cast since July. Once he joined our rescue, our veterinary team evaluated his injuries and determined that amputation was the kindest option for him. Now, Skunk is ready to start anew! Three legs won’t slow him down. Dogs have remarkable resilience, and Skunk deserves a loving home where his painful past does not hold him back. He’s looking for a forever family who will see the sweet dog he is beyond his medical history and provide him with the love and support he seeks. Skunk's hardest days are behind him; his best days are on the horizon. If you can open your heart to a special boy in need of a second chance, Skunk is excited to meet you!
