Meet Andy, a 1-year-old terrier mix with an adventurous spirit. He’s a goofy boy who loves to jump around and explore, all while showing off his charming looks. Andy might be a bit shy at first, but with a few treats, he warms up quickly and enjoys some quality time for affection. Andy came to us after being seized alongside ten other dogs. Despite his tough past, he’s optimistic about starting fresh. He tends to get along better with female dogs but is good with children and even cats. While we can’t guarantee he’s fully housetrained, he’s been doing well with potty breaks outside. Andy is currently heartworm positive, having contracted it from mosquito bites due to a lack of prevention. Don’t worry; the shelter is beginning his treatment process, although it will take some time. His adoption will be a ‘foster to adopt’ arrangement to ensure he’s happy and healthy before finalizing. This includes a commitment to follow exercise restrictions and give him daily medication for 90 days until his treatment is completed.
