Prieta is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. Currently in foster care in Olympia, WA, this black mixed breed, with a whippet and Labrador Retriever background, brings joy wherever she goes. Despite being a tri-pod—having had her back leg amputated—she lives life to the fullest. Prieta is incredibly social and friendly, getting along with children, adults, and other dogs alike. She loves being around her people and enjoys spending time with canine companions. At just 10 months old and weighing around 38 lbs, she is still in her puppy phase and might chew on things if left unattended. However, she’s shown no interest in destroying her bed or blankets, preferring her deer, elk horns, or yak chew instead. Prieta is house trained and has not had any accidents during her time in foster care. She’s undergoing leash training, and while she’s still building her strength post-surgery, she does well and doesn’t pull much on the leash. We believe that with proper training and time, she could even handle off-leash situations safely since she loves to stay close to her humans.
