Lee came to us as a stray, having been spotted wandering before finding refuge on a neighbor’s porch with his canine friend. When our officer arrived to assist him, Lee - a black and brown Flat-Coated Retriever mix - was a bit more timid than his friend and needed a gentle lift to the truck. Since their arrival, he has shown himself to be a sweet, albeit nervous, boy. At just one year old, Lee is a neutered male weighing about 47.5 pounds. Although he’s learning to navigate his new environment, he gets along well with other dogs and has met a canine friend at the shelter. However, we advise against placing him in a home with cats. While he is still getting used to the leash, Lee is eager to find a loving home where he can continue to blossom. We recommend meeting him with other dogs and children to ensure everyone is a good match. We’re located at 430 Bristol Drive in Statesville, NC, open Monday through Friday.
