Meet Phoebe Valentine, also known as Lucy by her foster family. This lovely, petite Golden Retriever is about 4 years old and weighs around 52 pounds. With her soft, fluffy red coat, she brings joy to everyone around her. When her humans come home, she gathers whatever is nearby—a toy, a shoe, or even a pledge can—and prances proudly, showcasing her excitement. Playing with her foster fur brother is one of her favorite activities, but she especially enjoys snuggling up for belly rubs with her humans. Phoebe is adjusting well to indoor living, having spent much of her time outdoors previously. House training is going great, and she walks well on a leash without jumping. Phoebe loves to curl up in bed with her people, being delightfully quiet and polite while she sleeps. Social and friendly, Phoebe enjoys the company of other dogs and gets along well with cats. Homes with children may not be ideal for her, so a child-free environment would be best. She thrives with a family that has ample time to spend with her to keep her out of trouble, as she can be a bit mischievous when left alone. A fenced yard and dog companions would make her feel right at home. Phoebe is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, which takes about 75 days, so she cannot go to her forever home until this is complete.
