Sophia is a lovely tabbico, a mix of tabby and calico, originally rescued from Tijuana. She has transitioned back to our care, but it’s not due to any fault of her own. In her most recent home, she was incredibly cherished. Her previous family shared her delightful morning routine: cuddling before breakfast and then watching the birds through the screen door. Sophia has a playful side too. She's fascinated by catnip and loves to chase string toys—and yarn is her absolute favorite! While she enjoys grazing on dry kibble, her heart belongs to tuna fillet, especially if you happen to share your meal. Although shy at first, with time she warms up and reveals her affectionate nature. You'll often find her hiding under beds or tables when scared, but gentle reassurance brings her out. She's also quite curious, enjoying splashing around her water bowl, so expect a few puddles. Please note that Sophia prefers not to be picked up, but once you respect that, she’ll connect with you in her own time.
