Hayes is a special little guy who has come a long way from a life in a cage. For most of his young life, he lived with four other chihuahuas without much human interaction, making him quite fearful of people. Since coming into rescue, he’s learned to follow his foster siblings, enjoying moments of running and playing with them. Although he tends to shy away from humans, you can occasionally find him relaxing on the ground next to his foster mom, soaking up the comforts of a home with air conditioning, something he had never experienced before. Hayes requires a patient adopter who understands that he may not ever be completely at ease with human touch. He'll need a secure fenced yard to feel safe since he does not yet have leash training. Despite these challenges, he is blossoming into a more confident dog and needs someone with a big heart to help him continue on his journey to trust.
